Value Recovery offers systems and technology to remove unwanted pollutants from air and water streams.  Depending upon the target species and the requirements of the custormer, we can either chemiclly destroy the pollutant or convert it into a product for sale.  Examples include the conversion of water soluble phenols, cyanide, acrylates and alkyl halides into useful products.  Since we are chemical engineers and chemists, we offer a first principals design analysis to all of our projects that is unmatched by other environmental control system suppliers.

The company has been awarded two US patents in the general area of reactive separations for converting harmful reactive chemicals into either non-hazardous byproducts or into saleable chemicals.   A third patent is pending.

A critically important application of this chemical destruction technology is the removal of methyl bromide from fumigation vent streams. Methyl bromide is a known ozone depleter and its emissions are one of the objects of interest of the Montreal Protocol, an international treaty meant to save the ozone layer located in earth's upper atmosphere. The ozone layer acts like a protective shield that filters ultra violet (UV) light from the sun that can cause increased incidences of skin cancer.  Value Recovery offers scrubbing systems to destroy methyl bromide and other harmful chemicals in fumigation vent streams and thus prevent them from hurting the ozone layer. The technology is BACT (Best Available Control Technology) for small and large scale methyl bromide fumigation emissions.

We offer the ability to design and build fumigation emission systems to meet detailed project specifications and fit within the needs for existing facilities with regard to product throughput, cycle times and logistical contraints.  We also have the ability to provide considerable assitstance  to obtain construction (authority to construct) and operating permits and provide consulting services to the fumigation industry.

In addtion, when the technology is used with good fumigant containment systems, the technology protects bystanders in close proximity to fumigations from the toxic effects of fumigants.

The company also performs R&D in the area of organic synthesis (new process routes).
